Nara Lokesh inquired about Monsoon Problems

Amaravati, June 22: The Andhra Pradesh Minister for information technology, Panchayat Raj, and rural development Nara Lokesh announced that the competitions would be held to select best Swachh villages and awards would also be given for the winners.

A review meeting held in Secretariat on Wednesday on works to be taken up in Vijayawada Parliamentary Constituency. Vijayawada MP Kesineni Srinivas and city MLAs also participated in the meeting.

The Minister congratulated the villages which won awards in best villages categories from Union government recently under Swachh Bharat program.The Commissioner of Panchayat Raj Ramanjaneyulu showed the awards to the minister and said that Andhra Pradesh won 19 awards in various categories.

Meanwhile, Minister Nara Lokesh has inquired about the problems in Assembly constituencies of Vijayawada Parliament constituency such as the implementation of a housing scheme for poor, roads widening, pensions, development of government hospitals and others.

He also reviewed the progress of various development works and implementation of welfare schemes.

He further said that "District level and other officials should be cautious in this rainy season to avoid problems to public and ensure drainages clean by removing silt regularly, which is important to prevent endemic decreases in rainy season", he said.

Principal secretary Karikal Valevan, Krishna Collector Lakshmikantham and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation commissioner participated.
