Iran Bans Zumba dance

Tehran Iran, June 20: A country has given a shock to dance plasticizers. Iran has banned Zumba dance and exercise classes citing it ' un-Islamic'. Iran's General Sports Federation head Ali Majdara said that he has written to Ministry of Youth Affairs on this issue.

The main aspects of his letter are that he has requested the minister to prohibit and make the following activities illegal

* Zumba
* Performing rhythmic movements or dancing in any form or
in any shape or title
* Special dance movements.

The Federation also requested to bring out a new athletic policy within the purview of supreme Islamic ideology.

Zumba is an energetic Colombian dance style. This dance style has become popular in recent years because many gyms and sports centers around the globe are advising people for weight loss.

Sources say that the religious organization has perceived Zumba as a threat to their culture because they feel that
* It may encourage revealing clothing or mixing of the sexes.
* It is been taught under different names such as "body rhythm"
or "advanced aerobics".

However many female fitness trainers have expressed their frustration on social media because currently this dance is mostly practiced by women.
