Ten-Day Teacher Training Program launched

Andhra Pradesh: Vizianagaram, June 20: A Ten-day teacher training program has been launched on communicative teaching strategies and methods and learner-centred techniques at MVGR College of Engineering on Monday.

This program will help to develop employability skills among students, which was organized by college principal K.V.L. Raju.

The program, with an objective to impart English proficiency and employability skills among students in the State, was taken up with the BBC and the AP State Higher Education as a pilot project in English communication skills.

The initiative includes an emphasis on building institutional capacity to train teachers by creating a cadre of master trainers who in turn train teachers and provide support on a sustainable basis to in-service teachers in the future.

The program would be conducted in two spells, June 19-23 and July 3-7. Twenty-eight teachers of the college were selected for the program. Mrs. Sujatha Lokanadham is the master trainer, according to a release.
