TDP urged YSRCP cooperation in Nandyala By-Polls

Kurnool, June 20: The central disciplinary committee member of TDP Somisetty Venkateswarlu, who assigned as Kurnool district TDP president on Monday, who appealed to Opposition leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to cooperate for unanimous election of TDP candidate Bhuma Brahmananda Reddy from Nandyal constituency in the ensuing by-election.

Addressing the media, Mr. Venkateswarlu recalled that the TDP did not field a candidate in the by-elections caused by the death of Allagadda MLA Sobha Nagi Reddy and urged the YSR Congress to follow the tradition.

If the YSRC adamantly contested from Nandyal, the TDP would root it and win hands down, he asserted.

Mr. Venkateswarlu advised Mr. Reddy and AP Congress Committee president N. Raghuveera Reddy to stop their tirade against Mr. Chandrababu Naidu, who was striving for the development of the State despite financial crunch.

Terming those obstructing development as betrayers, he prophesied that YSRC would lose the Opposition party status in the next elections.

Mr. Venkateswarlu, who joined the TDP on its inception, had earlier served as Kurnool district party president for 16 years in his 36-year-long political career.

He came in a motorcycle rally from his residence to the district TDP office and garlanded party founder N.T. Rama Rao's statue at NTR Circle en route.

Assuring to accord recognition to sincere party activists who selflessly served the party by recommending them to nominated posts, he urged the constituency in-charges to recommend names of party men for nomination on temple committee posts.

He urged party men to strive to ensure that the TDP returns to power in 2019.
