Airlines drop Departure cards from JULY 1

NewDelhi, June 20: A good news for Indian passengers. The airlines will abandon a practice of filling departure cards for passengers traveling to foreign from July 1. Earlier passengers used to fill up such cards and it is a cumbersome process.

Home Ministry in a notification said that all passengers traveling out of the country via land, sea, and rail must still fill departure cards. Currently The departure card contains details of passengers such as

* Name
* Date of birth
* Passport number
* Address in India
* Fight number
* Date of boarding.

The Home Ministry said that the above information is available online while a passengers book his tickets so that there was no need for such formality. Finally this move is in line with the central government easing the rules and regulations for passengers travel.
