SAARC summit for startups soon

New Delhi, June 20: The central government is planning a new initiative. Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that India will soon organize a SAARC (South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation) country meet for startups. She also said that the meet of startups of the South Asian region will be helpful in exchange of new ideas and promote interaction among the countries.

Minister said the above comments when she has started startup India hub portal yesterday. The minister has invited opinion from different startups about organizing the meet .she has also said that the government will hold the SAARC startup meet in December if everything goes according to the plan.

SAARC members include Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.The minister has also highlighted the various steps taken by "Startup India" program to promote young budding entrepreneurs. Finally she has said that startups are next generation future of the country because these are vital for India to become a global manufacturing hub.
