UPSC prelims exam held peacefully

New Delhi, June 19: A exam was conducted yesterday. UPSC has conducted prelims examination for Civil service aspirants for the year 2017.

Prelims exams consists of 2 papers

General studies paper and CSAT or Civil Service Aptitude Test paper. Experts have said that the paper was tough.

The GS paper focused on following sections

History, Art, and Culture: Questions were moderate. Total 12 questions comprising 6 questions each on Modern history, ancient history, art, and culture.the art and culture questions were diverse.

Political Sciences: Total 20 questions were asked. mostly questions were based on basics of the polity.

Geography: Mostly questions were asked around world map and Indian map. some questions were asked on Irrigation and Agriculture.

Economy: 7-8 questions were asked .they were mostly factual oriented between 2012-2016.

Science and Technology: 4 questions were asked.the questions have overlapped with current affairs.

Environment: 15 questions were asked and these also many revolved around public health and current affairs.

Current Affairs: This was the main heart of the paper. 15-20 questions were asked related to Government schemes, laws and policies.

CSAT exam mainly focused on the English Language,
Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, and Computer Skills.

Finally, experts predicted that those have around knowledge in all subjects would find it easy to crack the paper.
