IndraKaran Reddy Demands bifurcation of High court

India Hyderabad, June 19: Telangana Law Minister A Indrakaran Reddy urged the Union minister of state for law and justice PP Chaudhary to take steps to bifurcate High Court as early as possible.

While coming to details, Indrakaran Reddy met the Union minister who was in the city on Sunday and gave a representation for HC bifurcation.

As per section 31 of AP Reorganization Act 2014, separate high courts should be set up for Telangana and AP.

Later speaking to media, he said there was an abnormal delay in the bifurcation of high court due to the attitude of AP government., He said.

"When AP government can construct Secretariat and Assembly buildings in one year, why cannot they construct high court building? It is deliberate attempt to delay the bifurcation process," Indrakaran added.

The AP government has constructed its Assembly and Secretariat at Amaravati in a record time. But it is delaying the process of construction of a building for High Court. Because of this, the bifurcation of the present common HC in Hyderabad is getting delayed,” he told Chaudhary.

"If the Centre is ready to bifurcate the HC without any further delay, the TS government is ready to provide the required buildings for the functioning of the Telangana High Court. In fact, setting up of separate High Courts for the two states is a long-pending demand. Our chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has several times brought the issue to the notice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi," Reddy told Chaudhary
