71 crore worth Narcotic Drugs seized

Chennai, India June 17: A seizure took place today. Narcotic drugs worth Rs 71 crore were seized by police on Saturday. Police said that they have arrested 10 persons after a surprise check at a manufacturing plant in Chennai.
Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) have acted based on a tip-off regarding the huge quantity of Methamphetamine, a narcotic drug present near Red Hills.The officials said that they were manufacturing drug under the pretext of a detergent powder.
The gang includes a Malaysian national, they have installed an apparatus to process to "cook" Methamphetamine, in a secret corner of the factory.The seized drugs include 11 kg of Methamphetamine, 56 kg of Pseudoephedrine and 90 kg of heroin, whose worth is Rs. 71 crore. A case was registered against them and further investigation is going on.
