Governor calls for Blood Donation

Hyderabad June 17: Telugu States Governor ESL Narasimhan who is also president of the TS and AP chapters of the Indian Red Cross Society presented awards to blood donors and motivators from the two States on the occasion of World Blood Donors Day on Friday.

Congratulating the winners, he said voluntarism in blood donation should be encouraged as every drop of blood could save not one life but many lives.

Narasimhan has exhorted the officials of the Indian Red Cross Society to encourage students in various educational institutions and universities to come forward and donate blood in large numbers.

The Governor said the requirement of blood was increasing by the day due to various circumstances and there was the need for the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh chapters of the society to motivate people on the importance of blood donation.

He complimented the officials of the two chapters of the Society for their contribution to the cause and wanted them to expand their activities into other health related areas like healthcare and daycare centers for senior citizens.
