Two Police arrested for smuggling red sandals

Chittoor, June 17: Here two police arrested, who are caught smuggling red sandals at Chittor here on Friday.

The Mulakala Cheruvu police of Chittoor district arrested two insiders of Tirupati urban police district on the grounds of their involvement in red sanders smuggling activities.

Constable Dharmendra working as reserve inspector jeep driver at AR Police wing in Tirupati and east police station constable Lokesh were arrested in the smuggling case which was registered in 2015 at Mulakala Cheruvu police station.

According to CI Rishikeshav of Mulakala Cheruvu police station, these two cops had acted as pilots of the red sanders smuggling vehicles for route clearance. Police recently arrested one smuggler belonging to Karakam Badi village of Renigunta Mandal.

Police have acted on tipoff information from the arrested smuggler and confirmed the involvement of cops.

Meanwhile,A police team led by CI Rishikeshav arrived in Tirupati and arrested the culprits of the police department during late hours of Thursday, and sent them to remand.
