Anti emergency Meetings to be held on June 25-26

New Delhi, June 16: An Important decision was taken by the Central government today. Union government has decided to observe June 25-26 as anti-Emergency days. The government has asked all its ministers to hold programs across the country.

The main agenda of these meetings is to remind people about the Emergency orders issued by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1975. Union Information and Broadcasting Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has termed the emergency as "a black day in the history of Indian constitution".

He said that these meetings are need of the hour because the current generation must know the repurcursions of the emergency issued and how we all suffered 32 years back.

The government's aggressive approach to observe anti emergency has given jolts to media houses who strongly believe in freedom of presses because they thought they would have an opportunity to target central government.

Finally Union I &B minister said that we respect freedom of the press and we are holding meetings just to expose the Congress who was done a lot of injustice to media.
