Railway Minister sanctioned Rs.2,680 Cr for Amaravati railway line

Guntur, June 16: The Union Railway Minister Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu has sanctioned Rs.2,680 crores for the Vijayawada - Amaravati -Guntur railway line here on Thursday.

While participating in the Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas program organized by the BJP at Tenali as a chief guest, he said emphasis was laid on furthering improving rail connectivity to Andhra Pradesh.

About 400 railway stations in the country would be modernized as part of a development plan.

The Centre is extending all necessary financial support to Andhra Pradesh after bifurcation of the State to enable it to achieve rapid economic growth, the Minister said.

Highlighting the achievements of the BJP-led NDA regime, the Union Minister said it launched many development schemes and welfare programs in the last three years.

MP Galla Jayadev urged the Union Minister to allocate more funds for the railway projects in Guntur district. He also sought announcement of a new railway zone for Andhra Pradesh.

Health Minister Kamineni Srinivas and Social Welfare Minister Nakka Ananda Babu, MPs Gokaraju Ganga Raju and Kambhampati Haribabu and others were present on the occasion.
