Telangana Cabinet meet on

Hyderabad June 16: The State Cabinet meeting will be conducted at Pragathi Bhavan on June 17 at 5 pm. According to a press release issued here on Thursday, the Cabinet will meet at the camp office of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao who is to chair the crucial meeting.

The Cabinet is likely to focus on the land scam cases including Miyapur land case that involves crores of rupees and attracted the wrath of Opposition parties.

It assumes significance in the wake of Miyapur land scam that drew flak from Opposition parties seeking CBI inquiry and the leaders being on a warpath against the government.

While the Congress leaders made a visit to Miyapur lands on Wednesday, the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders complained to Governor ESL Narasimhan and sought CBI inquiry into the matter.

According to Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, the government would come up with a new land policy by making an amendment to the existing land Act to check irregularities and punish the guilty.
