Bharat ke veer fund receives 1 crore from NBCC

NewDelhi, June 15: A good news for Indian Army people. The National Buildings Construction Corporation NBCC yesterday has donated Rs 1 crore to a home ministry "Bharat ke Veer" fund. The money donated will be used for upliftment of families of paramilitary personnel who laid down their lives fighting extremists.

Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu has handed over the amount to Home Minister Rajnath Singh at a function held yesterday. Home Minister has responded by tweeting that "I express gratitude on behalf of MHA to Union Minister Shri @MVenkaiahNaidu & NBCC for making a contribution of Rs 1 crore to @BharatKeVeer".

Sources say that the fund was launched just a few months ago and it has received several crores as the donation to soldiers. Reports say that Rs 60 lakh was donated to the families of the 25 personnel who were massacred by the Naxals at Sukma in Chhattisgarh on April 24.

The general public can visit the portal 'BharatKeVeer' and make a contribution to support the families of the jawans who die while performing the duty. The idea of Having such Fund was earlier Mooted by Film Actor Akshay Kumar and the Home Ministry has acted upon it and has launched an app and Web Portal.Finally, let's hope more people contribute money to Indian Army as a token of respect for the country.
