Two engineers held for accepting Bribe

Andhra Pradesh: Nellore, June 15: Here Two engineers are arrested by ACB officials, who are worked from quality control wing of the Irrigation Department were caught red-handed on Wednesday evening while accepting a bribe from a contractor for issuing quality control certificate.

According to officials, Assistant Engineer Giridhar Raja demanded Rs 48,000 from class-3 contractor S Sundara Naidu of Yerpedu of Chittoor district.

Meanwhile, Another Assistant Engineer to G Chandramouli of the same office has a share of Rs 30,000 in the bribe amount.

Earlier, Sundara Naidu had approached the two engineers for processing the file regarding works taken up in Venkatagiri and Balayapalli Mandals for issuing quality control certificate.

The accused engineers demanded the contractor to pay them a bribe and he approached the ACB. Two engineers were arrested and they would be produced before the Magistrate, the ACB officials said.
