Lepakshi Centers to setup in AP Districts

Amaravati, June 13: The Andhra Pradesh Industry Minister Amarnatha Reddy suggested setting up Lepakshi centers in each district of Andhra Pradesh here on Monday.

The Andhra Pradesh Handicrafts Development Authority reviewed the Secretariat at Velagapudi on Monday.

While speaking to media, he has observed Lepakshi performance, he said that the handicraft and Khadi-based industries should be encouraged in the state.the Lepakshi brand is to be set up in Hyderabad.

Kondapalli toys, terracotta pots and Banjara cassettes that are designed for Telugu culture should be made more popular in the state. In order to provide employment opportunities in the famine and backward areas, steps should be taken to establish bricks and cement brick making industries.

The meeting was attended by Lepakshi, Khadi Rural Industries Council MD Srinivasa Sri Naresh, Handicrafts Development General Manager Lakshmaiah, and others.
