150 MBBS seats slashed in AP

Amaravati, June 13: Another 150 MBBS seats were slashed in Andhra Pradesh here on Monday. Recently, private colleges like Apollo (Chittoor), Nimra (Krishna) and Gayatri (Vizag) Medical College were cut down to 150 in UG seats and 450 seats were unavailable.

The new list of newly-recruited RVS Institute of Medical Sciences has been reduced to 600 in the list. It is clear that in the next two years, these seats should not be replaced. It has also been asked to take over the seat since 2019-20 to get the proper clearance from the Center.

Such a decision was taken by Mahavir Institute of Medical Sciences in Telangana. The newly formed colleges were permitted by the Center for the replacement of seats in the 2016-17 academic year.

However, these colleges failed to act in accordance with the rules. With 600 feeds, the fee would be reduced to the convenience quota with fewer fees.
