Parliament Monsoon Session on July 12

New Delhi June 13: The month-long Monsoon Session of Parliament is likely to commence from July 12, 2017.

As per one of the proposals before the Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA), the session will begin on July 12 and conclude on August 11, according to government sources.

The final call on the dates will be taken by the committee, headed by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, after June 20, the sources said.



This time, they said, the session was slightly being advanced because of the Presidential election in which MPs and MLAs are voters. A session at that time will ensure that all the MPs are in Delhi, where they usually vote in Parliament. An MP can also vote in his home state where MLAs generally vote.
