Highcourt stay on Group 2 posts

Hyderabad, June 13: Hyderabad High Court has stayed the Selection process of Group2 posts here on Monday. Faced with scores of complaints about irregularities, Justice M S Ramachandra Rao of the Hyderabad High Court on Monday stayed the selection process for 1,032 Group 2 posts by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC).

The judge was dealing with two petitions, filed by V Ramachandra Reddy & 14 others and P Sricharandas Goswami & 20 other graduates, who appeared for the written test in November 2016 and charged the TSPSC with mismanagement. The objective-type test was conducted through OMR, which involves assessments only by computers.

Appearing for the petitioners, senior counsel M Surender Rao told the court that the TSPSC had violated its own assurance given to the HC in a case that challenged the same process.

Ten candidates had earlier approached the HC with a plea to direct the TSPSC to evaluate their answer sheets, which had been kept aside on the ground that there were corrections with whitener in the places earmarked for hall ticket numbers and paper codes.

The TSPSC had expressed its inability to do so as the computers will not accept manual corrections.
The HC too had agreed with TSPSC and dismissed the pleas of the 10 candidates.
