police officer killed in a court attack

Kinshasa Congo, June 11: A murder took place recently. A police officer was killed during an attack made on a court compound in the Democratic Republic of Congo. A magistrate in the Matete district of the capital city was the live witness of the incident.

He said that unknown gunmen have attacked the court office last night and they have also burnt several vehicles which were parked near the premises of the building. He also said that police officer had tried to stop the attack but one of them died and another police was wounded and the attackers also targeted the near by police station.


The attacks assume significance because just 3 three weeks after dozens of prisoners have escaped Kinshasha's jail. Police suspect that there might be a hand of prisoners who have escaped the jail.and they are still investigating the case and more details are awaited.
