Power sector performance in Telangana has improved: Union Minister

New Delhi, June 11: We already were seen there is the fight between two Telugu states against the Electricity between the two Telugu States, from this perspective the union minister has responded over the issue.

The Center said the power sector performance in Telangana has improved. Union Minister Piyush Goyal today released the electricity surveys during the three-year NDA regime.

"By April 2017 there is no shortage of electricity in Telangana. South Indian transmission lines rose by 116 per cent. Electricity price has fallen to Rs.3 Due to the Ujwala Discom Assurance Scheme, Telangana gets Rs. 6100 crores are saving, "he said.

"We have had a discussion with lenders. We have broadly worked out the contours of a scheme under which we will be able to complete all the stalled projects which are half way through," Goyal said.

Goyal said the country is facing a situation of many projects having being initiated despite the fact that the demand growth at a particular trajectory did not warrant that.

"Therefore, we have nearly 20,000-25,000 megawatt of thermal power projects which are either stressed or potentially going to be stranded," Goyal said.
