Man arrested, who accused in 2 murders

Hyderabad, June 4: The Nampally police have arrested a person based on CCTV footages, who was a robber and also accused in two murder cases at Afzal Nagar in Malakpet on Friday. A country made pistol and three live rounds were seized from his possession.

While coming to details, the suspect, Mohammed Farooq Ahmed alias Javed (40), is a car driver and a resident of Afzal Nagar, Malakpet. According to the police, Farooq's modus operandi was to hire cabs to go to various places in Mahabubnagar, Kurnool, and Raichur.

In the middle of the journey, he would threaten the drivers with a pistol and rob them. A fortnight ago he hired N Raju's cab at Nampally to go to Mahabubnagar. There, they had dinner at a Dhaba and slept in the car and the next morning they refilled fuel with Raju’s credit card.

“He also took Rs 6,500 which the driver had with him,” Said Joel Davis, DCP, Central Zone. He got the cab at Jambagh X road and fled towards MJ market.

In 2016, he allegedly shot dead two persons and was arrested by the Mahbubnagar rural police. After getting out of jail on condition bail, he shifted his family to Afzal Nagar and turned into a realtor.

"His income wasn't sufficient hence he plotted to rob people. In December 2016, he purchased a pistol and three 7.65 mm rounds for Rs.50,000 from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh," officials said.

He is currently involved in six cases including two in Saifabad, and one each in the RGI Airport police station, Humayun Nagar, Mahbubnagar and Nampally police stations.
