Dalai Lama to visit Ladakh

Srinagar, June 3: The Spiritual leader Dalai Lama will be going to visit Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir on June 28.

The Minister for Ladakh Affairs and Cooperatives Chering Dorjay said, "Arrangements are being made for the spiritual leader. The Ladakh Affairs Department will leave no stone unturned in ensuring his smooth one-and-a-half month visit beginning June 28."

Mr. Dorjay said people of the region were "eagerly waiting for his visit". Dalai Lama is scheduled to address a number of gatherings.

Accompanied by translator and religious assistants, he will stay at Shewatsal Phodrang. He is also scheduled to visit Nubra, and Zanskar. Ladakh has a sizeable Buddhist population.
