CPMs maha jana padayatra to restore lost glory

Hyderabad, October 17: The CPM's 'maha jana padayatra' would commence from Ibrahimpatnam of Rangareddy district on Monday. Repenting its mistake of strongly opposing Telangana State formation, the party is now concentrating to restore the lost glory in the State.

Party state committee secretary Thammineni Veerabhadram will lead the yatra, which would be inaugurated by Dr. Prakash Ambedkar, grandson of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and social reformer. The 4,000 km long padayatra will continue for about five months.

Earlier, former chief minister late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy and Chandrababu Naidu resorted to padayatras on the main roads in united Andhra Pradesh to gain popularity in the masses. But Veerabhadram is mulling over to visit each and every village to know the villagers problems and to submit a detailed report about the same to the government. He wanted to tour the entire State to accrue public support for the next general elections.

Thammineni will be accompanied by party leaders John Wesley, S. Rama, M.V. Ramana, M.D. Abbas, P. Ashaiah, K. Nagesh, M. Shobhan Naik and Naitam Raju. Party leaders and cadre of respective districts, mandals and villages will also participate in the padayatra.
