HMWSSB water board launches 12 QRT teams

Hyderabad, June 2: The GHMC based Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) has introduced 12 Quick Response Teams (QRT) and emergency vehicles here on Thursday

Those teams will solve the repair works of roads that get damaged during monsoons in the city outskirts.

The Managing Director of HMWS&SB Dana Kishore, who launched the quick response teams and emergency vehicles, said the teams will operate exclusively in 12 circles, all in suburban regions.

The circles identified include Kukatpally, Serlingampally, Ramachandrapuram, Patancheru, Malkajgiri, Alwal, Kapra, Uppal, LB Nagar, Gaddiannaram Rajendranagar and Quthbullapur.

Meanwhile, As part of 1300 kilometers of water pipeline laying works in city outskirts, massive road-digging works were taken up in the last few months. So far, the water board has relaid 1,000 kilometers of the road while the rest will be completed by the second week of June.

However, Dana Kishore maintained that since the road relaying works will be taken up just before the onset of monsoons, they will be prone to damage. To repair such damaged roads, the quick response teams will be available on call.
