Techie died in road accident

Hyderabad, May 29: A techie has died and his friend was severely injured, when their car was rammed by an unidentified vehicle at Outer Ring Road (ORR) here on Sunday.

In-depth into matter, The deceased, identified as Shiva Ram Krishna (40), and the injured victim, Naveen Kumar (28), are both software employees at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Adibatla.

On Sunday morning, the duo went to LB Nagar to meet their friend Vishal after working the night shift. They again came back to TCS to drop him and headed for their home in Chandanagar through the ORR.

After reaching Pedda Amberpet, Krishna, who was driving the vehicle lost control of the vehicle and hit the lorry, which was going in the same direction, from behind. In the impact, the vehicle flung into the air and came to a grinding halt after hitting the divider.

The condition of the injured victim is very critical, police said. The incident took place in the morning hours when the car was heading from Raviryala to Thukkuguda.

Passersby who witnessed the accident alerted the police and the injured victim was shifted to the nearby hospital in '108' ambulance. The police suspect that the accident could have resulted from the car driver’s fatigue from the night shift.

The Pahadishareef SI Srikanth said, "The front portion of the car got totally damaged. Though Krishna was wearing seat belt he died on the spot while Naveen suffered serious injuries"

SI also said that "He might have got drowsy and tired and didn't observe the lorry in the front," one officer said. A case has been registered and further investigation is on.
