New Delhi, May 27: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched a debate on the President and Vice-Presidential candidates at the palm of the Opposition to fight hard in the presidential election. He discussed the issue with his cabinet colleagues here on Thursday.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari participated in the discussion on this topic.
It seems to be that cabinet colleagues have suggested that the party candidate only should be appointed for the two Positions. They also added that there should be three main things considered i.e., Advocacy, Seniority, and Commitment regarding the Party.
In the Presidential Electoral Electoral College, the BJP had a slight margin. Parliament both houses members and State legislative members will be the Voters.

Total votes - 10,98,882
Winner should have - 5,49,442 votes
BJP vote strength - 4,33,182 votes
When combined with allies it becomes - 5,24,088 votes
There is a need for 25,000 votes.
Finally the terms of President Pranab Mukherjee and Vice-President Mohammad Hamid Ansari
will complete by August.
