India stands No.1 in FDI

New Delhi, MAY 26: A good news for the Indian economy. India has stood as the No1 destination for foreign investment.

A report titled FDI report 2017 prepared by FDI Intelligence. The report claimed that India has pushed back China and the US in attracting FDI inflows to the country last year.

The main highlights of the report are:

# FDI by capital investment saw an increase of 2 percent and stood at $62.3 billion in 809 projects during 2016 in the country.

# India has gathered huge inflows of investment because of the strong economic growth in last 2 years and the other countries saw a decline in their growth.

# In 2016 FDI continued to rise worldwide, with capital investment increasing by more than 6 percent to $776.2 billion in the world.

# The job created by FDI has also gone up by 5 % compared to last year.

# Finally the report said that India would attract more Investment in future years because of the reforms have taken by the Modi government.
