VRO and Bank Manager booked in CROP loans

Adilabad, Bellampalli May 24: Police officials have been arrested a manager of Andhra Bank and Village Revenue Officer (VRO) were among six persons here on Tuesday.

Coming to details, The were arrested for allegedly swindling crop loans to the tune of over Rs 8 lakh under the guise of farmers by producing fake documents, in Bellampalli on Tuesday.

According to the sub-inspector A Mallesham information, he said that the accused were Ramtenki Harikrishna, Batwanpalli, Valamadri Shantaiah, Ramtenki Shivakumar, Ramtenki Ramesh, Challuri Durga Prasad, and K Muralidhar. Muralidhar is Branch Manager of and Shantiah is VRO of Perkapalli village in Bellampalli Mandal.

Police said that a case was booked against 28 persons including some revenue officials and the bank manager following a complaint received from a native of Batwanpalli village of Bellampalli in February last.

Investigations began and six accused were taken into custody on Tuesday. The remaining are at still at large. Efforts are on to nab them, said Mallesham.
