Guntur city comes under third eye

Guntur, October 14: Since the Central government has made CCTV surveillance installation compulsory in government and private offices, shopping complex etc, the Guntur police were busy installing CCTV cameras at all key points in the city. They were setting up the CCTV cameras that were used at various pushkar ghats during the Krishna Pushkaralu.

The cameras were also set up at the prime centres in the city, which were linked with the command control room at SP office. Guntur is nearer to the Andhra Pradesh State capital Amaravathi and ministers and people's representatives have become regular visitors to the city.

Hence security arrangements in the city were beefed up. CCTV cameras footage helps in tracing any crime anywhere in the city and also nabbing the criminals. Police and public agreed that the video footage of these cameras did help in several chain snatching and theft cases.

Police could trace the vehicles of hit and run cases. But the locals said working of CCTV cameras in Guntur Two Town were not up to the mark and requested to set up these cameras like that in One Town.
