Delhi MAY 19: A shocking news from Auto Mobile Industry.

American-based General Motors Co will stop the sale of cars in India from the end of 2017. The decision was announced on Thursday.The company said that this drastic step has been taken as part of restructuring actions.

Sources say that the company came to view to unload all vehicles from manufacturing plant after it has just sold 25823 units in 2016.
Company's market share has dropped below 1 per cent in India in last fiscal year.



Stefan Jacoby, GM's chief of international operations, said that we would no longer market the Chevrolet brand -in India. He also said that we are not quitting completely we want to keep operating our tech center in Bangalore.

Sources say that the company may sell the Halol plant in the western Gujarat state to SAIC Motor Corp.

Finally, experts say that the decision taken by the company to restructure the plant will be a big blow to domestic manufacturing because many SMEs are dependent on the large factories.
