GST council to meet in Srinagar

Srinagar MAY 18: A key two-day meeting on Goods and Services Tax will be held in Srinagar on May 18-19.

Union Minister Arun Jaitley will chair the meeting for the 14 meeting of GST council.

It is expected that all 29 states Finance Ministers and three union territories finance ministers will be present in the meeting.

The main agenda of the meeting is to decide the fitment of different goods and services in the four different slabs such as 5,12, 18,28 %.



Sources say that the exemption list of goods and services will be limited to 100 under the new tax regime.The council will finalize the rules and regulation which were left out in the last meeting.

Jammu and Kashmir Finance Minister Haseeb Drabu yesterday looked after the arrangements for the meeting. The local police have deployed a huge security for the meeting.

Let's hope that meeting succeeds well.
