Father killed his 8 yrs old daughter for?

Patna, May 16: A gruesome incident has occurred in Bihar on Monday, while a father allegedly strangled to death his 8 yrs old daughter after being told that his estranged wife had married another person.

The incident took place at Laliyahi, in Katihar town police station area on Monday.

While coming to details, Mohammad Mustaque, 40, lost his temper when he came to know that his wife had married another man in New Delhi. In a fit of anger, Mustaque started beating up his daughter Suhani and finally strangled her to death, town police station SHO Anupam Kumar said.

Mustaque, a daily wager, had been arrested and sent to jail after his mother-in-law lodged a complaint with the police on Monday evening, the station house officer (SHO) said.

Kumar said Mustaque's wife Dukhni Khatun, 35, left for New Delhi with a son and a daughter five months ago and had been living there with her sister since then.

With the small earning as a daily wager, he was finding it difficult to support his family, resulting in frequent quarrel with his wife. Upset over this, Khatun left her husband five months ago and went to New Delhi," the SHO said.

The SHO, however, could not confirm or deny the veracity of reports regarding Khatun’s remarriage.

The post-mortem examination of the victim had been conducted and further probe was underway, he said.
