Bangaluru hits by Cash Crunch Problem due to Ransom ware

Bengaluru, May 17: As we know that, Cash crunch problem is still continuing in many states.In past months money problems are somehow relieved after demonetization.Now the Most of the ATMs are suspended due to fear of attack by a ransome ware virus.

cash crunch affected people in different parts of the State on Tuesday.'No cash' boards welcomed people at several ATMs in Bengaluru, while the few that had cash witnessed queues.

There were also rumours that banks and treasury chests have delayed the operation of ATMs to wade through the ‘WannaCry’ ransomeware threat as most ATMs use Windows operating systems.

Yusuf Naveed, a resident of Domlur, said he has been facing the problem since Saturday. "I thought the ATMs were not refilled due to the weekend. It’s surprising that services were suspended in many ATMs on Monday and Tuesday too," he said.

The situation was the same in other districts as well. In Mangaluru, the 156 off-site ATMs worked while 101 onsite ATMs faced problems on Tuesday.

According to bank officials, the ATMs were not working because of the software update of ATMs following the ransomware attack. "The update will be completed during the night when ATM traffic is low," an official said.
