GHMC to introduce a new technology to observe engineering works

Hyderabad, May 16: Here the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation(GHMC) has going to introduce a new technology to monitor the engineering works said in an official statement here on Monday.

The technology is also useful to check irregularities and misuse of funds in the engineering works.

GHMC proposes to introduce a foolproof mechanism 'Web Cloud' to control possible exploitation and bring out transparency and accountability by introducing Task Electronic Assessment and Monitoring (TEAM), an online monitoring system.

With TEAM, implemented in the Uppal Circle on a trial basis, yielding the desired results, the GHMC has now decided to extend the method to all circles, and for both maintenance works and projects.

For this aspect, it will invite expressions of interest in about three weeks. The system is likely to be in place within 45 days.

The innovative technology will ensure accountability and transparency, access to information and documents, quality check, money saving, easy payments, proper evaluation of contractors, elimination of middlemen, online recording, contractor signature for acceptance, online bill transfer to audit and online payment to the contractor.
