Telangana Government Schools to be Merged

Hyderabad, MAY 10: State Government is planning, the rationalisation schools and teachers for improving administration and streamlining primary education, said Deputy Chief Minister Kadiyam Srihari here on Tuesday.

In-Depth into matter, District Educational Officer (DEO) Meeting was conducted at Sarva Siksha Abiyaan Auditorium, Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari attended the Meeting issued directions to the District Education Officers to take all steps to this extent.

The Education Department has taken a crucial decision to merge students and schools at the primary level. As a result, 4,637 schools will be merged with other schools across the state. The teachers and students of those schools will move to schools, that are merged.

In the meeting, they Discussed the plan of action to be implemented in the upcoming academic year.

The schools which are having Zero Enrollment, 1 to 10 Students, 20 Students are going to Merge with other schools. The arrangements should be completed before re-opening of schools that is before June 12th, he ordered.

If there are two schools in the same village, they will select a better school and merge into it.

The Education Department is working to merge school in the neighbouring village if they can not be merged in the same village with various reasons.

However, the Department of Education has decided to pay Rs 300 per SSA per month for transportation of students to avoid financial difficulties in rural villages.
