High court Judge orders jail for CJI

Kolkata MAY 09: J S Khehar Chief Justice of India and seven other judges of the Supreme Court were declared five years imprisonment by embattled Calcutta Justice C S Karnan High Court judge, who is facing contempt charges.

Justice Karnan, last week ordered that non-bailable warrants to be issued against the judges. The judge claimed he had a stable mind, and said that the team cannot conduct an evaluation he said with the Doctors.

Supreme Court transferred Justice Karan from Madras High Court to Kolkata.

With summons, contempt and defamation allegation, Karnan has matched every order of the top court and All the counter-orders have been issued from his home, which he named it as his 'home court'.



He declared the Chief Justice of India and seven judges of the Supreme Court to 5 years in jail. The order said that the judges have been found guilty of caste discrimination, harassment, conspiracy, and misuse of contempt proceedings.

He also asked to pay Rs 1 Lakh per head within 1 week and If the judges failed to pay the fine, they would have to serve jail for six more months.

The Supreme Court responded saying that, the courts and tribunals across the country to ignore any order passed by Justice Karnan, who is scheduled to retire within a month.
