CBI arrested central excise officer

New Delhi, May 8: The Central Bearer Of Investigation has been arrested an assistant commissioner, Mumbai and a private person for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1.25 crore to settle an Enforcement Directorate case against the complainant here on Tuesday.

Coming to details that, according to the CBI sources it has been said that, The case is related to an assurance given by Assistant Commissioner Ashok Nayak to favorably decide the ED case against the complainant.

According to the CBI Spokesperson R K Gaur information, The complainant has alleged that in 2016, he had received notice from the office of Enforcement Directorate.

In April, a person approached him allegedly asking him to meet the assistant commissioner at his office in World Trade Centre, Cuffe Parade, Mumbai, he said.

It was further alleged that when the complainant met the assistant commissioner, the latter demanded a bribe of Rs 15 crore to sort out the matter pending with the ED, he said.
