Man held for assaulting a minor girl

Hyderabad, April 27: The Police have arrested a person, who allegedly sexually assaulted a minor girl by promising to marry her, here on Wednesday.

While coming to details, the suspect identified as Mirza Rahmath Ali Baig aka Rahmath Mirza (35) is a resident of Alibagh, located under the Kalapather police station limits.

On April 17, the girl's parents lodged a missing person complaint with police stating that their minor daughter left home on April 14 without informing anybody.

On the next day, the girl contacted her mother over mobile phone and informed that she along with her friends went to Himayath Sagar and will return back home by night.

However the family members, with the help of police, traced the location of the girl in Alibagh, and found that she was in Mirza's house, said Rudra Bhaskar, Inspector, Kalapather.

When the parent's enquired the minor, she revealed that Mirza developed friendship and promised to marry her. Believing his words, she accepted to go along with him to his house for three days.

"He lured her on the pretext of marrying her. But, during the investigation, it was learnt that he is already married and his pregnant wife was admitted in the hospital for delivery," he said, adding that he has four children.

Police, registered a case under Sections 363, 376, 420 of Indian Penal Code and Section of 4 and 8 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act(POCSO) and sent the girl for medical examination and further investigation is going on.
