Depts merger posing problem to govt

Hyderabad, October 5: The practical problems in the implementation of guidelines and service rules are coming in the way of merging of some of the wings in the departments to overcome staff crunch. The proposed new districts in Telangana State are facing shortage of staff.

Hence, the government decided to merge departments of same ideology. Following Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's directions, all the wings in social welfare department were brought under schedule development department.

But the employee unions are questioned how the work could be divided among the same cadre. Besides service rules also would change due to the merger of different wings. How many will follow the government's suggestion of doing work as per seniority, based on service is still a doubt.

The experts observed that employees may rise legal problems and suggested the State government to issue clear guidelines to solve this problem. On the other hand, protest demanding formation of Sammakka Saralamma district with Mulugu as headquarters was intensified.

TDP leader Sitakka led the rasta rook on national highway. Three youth carrying a petrol bottle climbed a cell phone tower in the town. The locals led by JAC staged rasta roko on Shamshabad airport road demanding to keep the district name Shamshabad and not to change it as Rangareddy.

All Oppositon parties organized bandh demanding creation of Adivasi district as Illendu headquarters in Khammam district.
