Sachins biopic failed to get discount from BCCI

Mumbai, April 22: We all know that A biopic of Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar was made with the title of 'SACHIN-A BILLION DREAMS'. a new problem is with the production company that The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) does not give loosen its rules, even when it comes to Sachin Tendulkar.

The Indian cricket board has turned down a request from '200 Not Out', who sought a discount for procuring video footages of his matches for the movie. The film, written and directed by James Erskine, is going to be release by next month.

It captures Tendulkar's cricket and personal life in substantial detail and therefore, the makers required some clips from the cricketer's great career.

The board has, however, agreed to provide Sachin's famous retirement speech at Wankhede Stadium on the last day of his cricket career in team India for free of charge to the production company.

The BCCI has the copyrights of all matches conducted under its banner. Thus, if anyone needs the video footage to use it for commercial purposes then they have to buy them from the BCCI board for which it has created a rate-card.

The footage charge will be based on 'per seconds basis' as well as the price depends upon the cricket matches and their significance.

Asked about the discount sought for the video clips, a top BCCI official told media that gave the example of 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story', a film based on the former Indian captain MS Dhoni. He said when they did not give the discount to Dhoni for his biopic.
