KTR to attend World Economic Forum

Hyderabad, April 22: The IT Minister of Telangana KT Rama Rao has been received the invitation from the World Economic Forum (WEF) to take part in its annual meeting scheduled to be held in China from June 27 to 29.

The meeting is expected to see about 2,000 members participating from across the world. They include researchers working to usher in the fourth industrial revolution, policymakers, and businessmen.

The event will also be attended by science and technology, innovation, electronics and communications and IT Ministers.

The forum has asked Rao to speak on the efforts being made to make Hyderabad a startup capital, implementation of water and broadband grid under the Mission Bhagiratha.



The annual event will also be a platform to attract investments to Telangana, the forum members informed.

Meanwhile, Industry body Confederation of Indian Industry has invited Rao to its annual session with the theme 'Future Globalisation- Can India Lead?'

The CII said the event is being held in the backdrop of demonetization, digitalisation, Make in India, GST and other decisions that impact the economy. The event will give a direction to the economy.

This would be held on April 28 and 29 at New Delhi Rao has been asked to speak on 'Is India Inc future-ready? Jobs and Technology'.
