At last AP employees leave Hyderabad

Vijayawada, October 3: Finally, the AP secretariat started functioning from Velagapudi on Monday. The shifting of files, computers and others was continued till Sunday night and employees are working from the new offices.

Several employees, who have been living in Hyderabad, went to Vijayawada by Intercity express on Sunday. The Chief Minister announced of introducing this train for the employees to travel between Hyderabad, Guntur and Vijayawada.

The Intercity train will start at 5.30 am in Secunderabad and reach Vijayawada by 11 am. Again it will start from Vijayawada at 5.30 pm and reach Secunderabad by 11 pm via Guntur. Most of the employees are living in the colonies near Golconda.

The city services have changed their schedule from 5.30 am to 4.30 am for the convenience of the staff, travelling to Vijayawada. Meanwhile, several employees were moved to tears to snip their bonding with the city and the secretariat, in which they have been working for more than decades.

A senior employee lamented that he had to leave Hyderabad just one year ahead of his retirement.
