Myanmar's Water Festival ended with huge deaths

Myanmar, April 19: There are 285 people were killed and 1,073 persons were injured across Myanmar during a four-day water festival, media reports said.

While coming to details, The Thingyan water festival, which was celebrated as new year for Myanmar people was a traditional festival and celebrated for 4 days.In this year, the water festival held from Thursday to Sunday. The total deaths were 13 times more than that of last year's event.

Meanwhile, a total of 1,200 criminal cases were also registered during the water festival, media reported.

There are 967 criminal cases were filed,which were related to murder, car accident, drug-use, theft, arm possession and group violence respectively.

In the last year's water festival,Nearly a total of 272 people were killed and 1,086 others injured.
