SC questioned Manipur Govt,over the allegations of Rape and Murder

New Delhi, April 19: The Justice bench supreme court has asked the state government, as well as the army on Tuesday that, why they have kept silence over the allegations of rape and murder by their personnel and also questioned that, Why the govt was not proceeding with those cases against them.

The media reported that a jury of Justices Madan B Lokur and U U Lalit questioned attorney general Mukul Rohatgi, who had appeared for the army and the Assam Rifles, "You may have two alleged rapists. Why you have kept quiet?" the bench investigated.

The attorney general, Mukul Rohtagi was answered that, "This information may be a mere allegation." The court also questioned the army after it was told about a rape of a 15-year-old girl who committed suicide in 2003.

The justices of the court were also informed about an inquiry commission report, which specifies about the rape being held, following which, the girl was shot dead by the Assam Rifles.
