Revenue officials' hand suspected in fake passbooks

Adilabad, October 3: The recent raids by Khapanpur police busted the fake pattadar passbook racket and also revealed suspected revenue officials? hand behind this scam.

Venkampochampad VRO Narsaiah, temporary computer operator in Tahsildar office Damodar and a few others were alleged of running the fake passbooks racket. A few Mee Seva centers and DTP centers in Nirmal and Khanapur were helping in making fake pattadar passbooks.

The police said that the computer operator helped the accused by using the Tahsildar?s dongle (digital signature) in the fake passbooks.

One or two senior patwaris, Mee Seva manager and a few others were involved in making the fake passbooks and also fake certificates.

One of these patwari was also accused in fake land documents case earlier. It is said that further investigation may unearth several others involved in this fraud.
