Andhra to start Telugu Velugu Buses

Amaravati, April 17: The Andhra Pradesh Transport Minister K Atchannaidu on Sunday flagged off ten Telugu Velugu buses for improving transport facilities in the agency region.

The buses, purchased with Girijan sub-plan funds, would be operated from Paderu and Narsipatnam to Mampa, Bakuru, Jolaput, Maredimilli, Gudem, Chintapalle, Sileru, Pedavalasa, Donkarayi and other places resulting in connectivity to an extent of over 600 km, the minister said.

The cost of each bus was Rs 25 lakh and though plied under Telugu Velugu, had all the modern equipment, he added.

He said that Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation occupied the first place in the country plying 12,000 buses over 45 lakh km. carrying about 80 lakh passengers and won several awards.
