Durga temple gearing for Dasara festival

vijayawada, September 30: Normally devotees' rush will be more at Vijayawada Durga temple during Dasara festival. This year the festival acquired further importance as the AP government declared it as State festival. Expecting more devotees this year, arrangements were being made for a hassle-free darshan to all.

The devotees will enter the queue lines from Vinayaka temple and come out only after the Goddess's darshan. Hence shoe stand, cloak rooms were set up near the Vinayaka temple.

Since the devotees have to walk barefoot about 4 km in the queue line, mats were laid. Special counters for sale of Goddess prasadam were set up at railway station and bus stand. Tonsuring shed was arranged only at Seetammavari Padalu.

Special arrangements were made for dress changing at bathing ghats near Durga temple. Break darshan from 6 am to 8 am and from 2 pm to 4 pm would be provided for VIPs. Devotees will be allowed to have Goddess darshan from 9 am on October 1 after conducting holy bath.

Darshanam will be from 3 am to 11 pm on the remaining days.
