Eamcet paper leak: CID probe concludes

Hyderabad, September 29: The CID officials finally confirmed that Sunil Kumar Singh of a Delhi-based consultancy is the kingpin behind Eamcet-2 question paper leakage. Steps are on to take Sunil Kumar into custody.

According to CID, 128 students were given training two days ahead of the medical entrance test in six selected areas. 58 persons acted as brokers in the leakage issue. Of these 33 accused were arrested and another two were held in Delhi.

Out of the arrested, 22 accused belong to AP and Telangana, one from Tamil Nadu and 10 from Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The remaining 23 - four from Telugu states - are yet to be arrested.

The CID investigation revealed that Sunil Singh and his assistants have charged a whopping amount for the question paper. Soon after the question paper leak from the printing press, Sunil Singh on May25 gave the papers to six persons and told them to collect Rs 25 lakh from each student.

These six persons handed over the question papers to sub-brokers by increasing the price further. Special training was given to students at Bengaluru, Mumbai, Pune, Shirdi, Cuttack, Kolkatta.

It was found that each student who took training in Shiridi paid Rs 65 lakh.
